Pokemon TCG Japanese Sword & Shield "VSTAR Special Set"
Pokémon Card Game Sword & Shield "VSTAR Special Set"
The Japanese version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Sword & Shield "VSTAR Special Set" is a Pokémon card game set with the following contents:
Set Contents:
- V&VSTAR Promo Card Pack: 1 pack
- Expansion Pack "Lost Abyss": 8 packs (each pack contains 5 random cards)
- VSTAR Marker: 1 piece
This set was released on August 5, 2022.
The "V&VSTAR Promo Card Pack" contains one of three combinations, each including 1 Pokémon V and 1 Pokémon VSTAR. These combinations also include Pokémon VSTARs that have not appeared until now.
Here are the Pokémon in the set:
Zacian VSTAR: Its move "Broken Blade" can deal 310 damage, capable of defeating Pokémon VMAX with 310 HP or less. Furthermore, this move ignores additional effects on the opponent, so it can still deal damage to Pokémon with abilities that prevent damage from Pokémon V, such as Miltank.
Zacian V: Its move "Brave Blade" can deal 260 damage to Pokémon VMAX. Compared to the Zacian V's move "Brave Sword" from the "Sword & Shield" SET A expansion pack, this move deals more damage and can be chosen for different situations.
Zamazenta VSTAR: Its ability "Shield Star" is a very powerful ability that reduces the damage taken by your Pokémon from your opponent's Pokémon's moves by 100 during the next opponent's turn. When Zamazenta VSTAR is in the Active Spot, even if the opponent's move deals a massive 360 damage, it will be reduced to 260 due to the ability, preventing it from being Knocked Out. Additionally, its move "Ultimate Impact" can Knock Out various Pokémon V in one hit.
Zamazenta V: This Zamazenta V, featured in the "100" Starter Deck, appears with new artwork. Its ability "King's Stance" can be useful during the first turn when you cannot use moves or when you have a bad hand. The move "Revenge Blast" can deal massive damage near the end of the game.
Rotom VSTAR: Its ability "Conversion Star" allows you to discard unwanted cards from your hand and draw the same number of cards from your deck, allowing you to keep desired cards and replace unwanted ones. This ability can be used in conjunction with "Tool Scrapper" to collect "Pokémon Tools" into your hand, and then use the move "Junk Pulse" to move "Pokémon Tools" from the discard pile to the Lost Zone, creating a powerful linked attack.
Rotom V: Unlike the Rotom V from the "Lost Abyss" expansion pack, it can still deal consistent damage with its move "Electric Current" even if there are no "Pokémon Tools" in the discard pile. Additionally, it can use the move "Lost Zone Hack" to disrupt the opponent.
These cards possess unique abilities and tactics in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, allowing players to build powerful card combinations and strategies in the game.
